What Happens When You Mix a Great Place and Visionary People? Great Local Products!

Date Published:
Where can you eat locally grown potato chips whilst knocking back shots of locally distilled tequila and then have locally ground coffee to help with the inevitable morning after hangover? The answer is Cabo San Lucas! Just like there are cities and states in the United States famous for their own locally grown iconic products (think of Washington apples, Oregon salmon, San Francisco sourdough bread, Florida oranges or New England clam chowder), right here in Los Cabos you can find tasty Cabo Chips, rock star Sammy Haggar's Cabo Wabo Tequila and the Cabo Coffee Company. And the great news is that all of them have a thriving export business shipping their Cabo made produce into the USA. The one year old Cabo Bakery, is fast becoming another Los Cabos staple that returning visitors will clamor for when they arrive. Located at the corner across the street from City Club and the Pemex gas station, the Cabo Bakery uses an old, enormous Paviller oven to produce incredible bread and pastries whose popularity continues to grow. ''The cinnamon rolls and coffee are my personal favorites,'' said freelance writer, Chris Sands, who is an ardent breakfast and Cabo connoisseur, originally from Indiana. The new artisan bakery is run by Markus and Maria Saffert, formerly of Germany, who have fostered a unique shop in which their brand has continued to draw more new and happy customers every week. ''We enjoyed their pastries and Brezn,'' commented Ben Petesic of Mountain View, CA on Cabo Bakery's facebook page. ''We miss your lovely food. We miss Cabo and our daily visits to your shop.'' added Sally and Josh Hall of Reno, Nevada.
