Hurricane Paine misses Cabo

Date Published:

Cabo looks safe from storms - at least for the  moment.

Hurricane Paine is currently about 355 miles (575km) west of the southern tip of Baja California Sur.

Having by-passed Cabo completely it is not expected to hit land. However, it is likely to cause serious storms and rains of up to 2- 4 inches, in the north of the peninsula of Baja California Sur.

The Government of Mexico has issued a Tropical Storm Watch for northwestern portions of Baja California peninsula from Punta Eugenia northward to Cabo San Quintin, Mexico. Storms may develop any time in the next 48 hours.
