Highway Chaos Due To Teachers

Date Published:

Teachers this week blocked the main highway between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos in a protest move and say they will not move until they have a face-to-face meeting with Governor Marco Cobarrubias.

The exact nature of the protest is currently unclear however it appears to have stemmed from a long-running dispute over salary payments.

There were reports of chaotic scenes yesterday with traffic backed up for miles and even emergency vehicles caught up in the demonstration.

The teachers are threatening more action and extending the blockade to include the airport at San Jose which, if true, will have a very detrimental effect on tourist movements to and from the international airport.

More news when we get more.
