Last weekend saw the third Orsan Fishing Tournament take
place in Cabo. The event was a huge success with 102 teams and 500 fishermen
participating. A total of 700, 000 pesos was distributed in prize money.
And most importantly, all funds raised during the event
will be donated to buy 100 wheel chairs for those in need in Cabo.
The lucky winners of the tournament were, in first place,Team Bone with a Dorado of 29.3 pounds winning them 466.800 pesos. In second position,
was Team Office with a Dorado of 24.6 pounds and prize money of 100,000 pesos.
And in third place was Team Cornelius, with a Dorado of 21.8 pounds which got
them 50,000 pesos.There were also prizes awarded to the 3 best tuna caught.
The Orsan closes the first round of the state-run sport fishing
competition - Cup Calisureños 2016-2017. And the competition will culminate in Loreto,
where all the winners will battle it out in the closing round.
This is the third time the event has taken place. And it
provides a fantastic chance for local families and fishermen to participate in
sport fishing competition.
