Cabo is usually the place for celebrity spotting. But
this weekend the stars were out in Loretto. Where famous ex Lakers basketball
star Byron Scott; and his fiancée Cecilia Gutiérrez, were special guests at the
reopening of the prestigious Danzante Bay Golf Course in Villas del Palmar.
This was the star’s first visit to the beautiful port of
Loreto. Apparently he is said to have been very impressed and has promised to
return soon.
Scott rose to fame with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 80’s
when he played for 10 consecutive seasons (1983–1993). During that time he was
on three NBA championship teams (1985, 1987, 1988).
He went on to become a coach in the late 90’s, and most recently
coached the Lakers for the last two seasons. Unfortunately these turned out to be their worst
NBA seasons ever, resulting in the termination of Scott’s contract.
