Bill Gates, the world’s richest man according to Forbes since he ousted Mexico’s
own Carlos Slim from that exalted position in December, and
the founder of Microsoft, spent 8 days vacationing with his family in La Paz.
He arrived in the capital of Baja California Sur aboard the
yacht Serene, which was seen recently off El Arco in Mid December, presumably
before Gates arrived and possibly awaiting he and his family’s arrival on
December 19th, and spent Christmas night with his 3 children on that
yacht. The owner of Serene is Yuri Scheffler, the vodka-and-spirits
magnate behind the Stolichnaya brand.
During his stay, Gates also stayed at the Costa Baja resort,
north of La Paz , and was seen playing tennis regularly with instructor Ted Bell.
This is the second time that Gates has visited La Paz , the
last time being in 2012.
