The Baja Ha-Ha Rally: Days of Fun on the Sea that End With More Fun in Cabo

In about a week, the Cabo San Lucas bay will suddenly be a lot more crowded than normal. Sailboat after sailboat will cruise past Land’s End, glide into the bay and gather just out from the golden sands of Medano Beach looking for a spot to drop anchor. Many boats will flock to the waters by the arroyo because of the ease of anchoring there, but there will be so many boats that they will line up all along the beach, in front of all the resorts from the arroyo to the beach restaurants. Then the sailors will make their way into Cabo to celebrate the arrival - and survival - of the 20th annual Baja Ha-Ha Rally. The Baja Ha-Ha, called a cruiser rally, is not a true race. Though awards are presented and many crews give it all they’ve got to be the first in their class to arrive in Cabo, the rally is more about fun, family, friendships and the satisfaction of simply finishing. For some it is their first multiple day sea cruise, so being part of such a large group can be a huge benefit when it comes to finding help or advice, as there are a large number of Baja Ha-Ha veterans involved each year.
