Art Walk Starts Again

Date Published:

Art District right after Hurricane Odile                                                                 Now

November marks the beginning of first Thursday Art Walk all over the historic downtown of San José del Cabo.

Los Cabo’s quaint and artsy side showcases a variety of art galleries, boutique shops, wonderful restaurants and fun original bars and cantinas to spend a bohemian evening.

The Art District was one of the areas most affected after Hurricane Odile. Water level rose up to almost 6 feet in some areas leaving lots of devastation.

After weeks of hard work, the local businesses fixed things up and now they are ready to receive visitors and make them very welcome in this eclectic area of San Jose.

The Art District actually used to be the Red District in Los Cabos centuries ago; a street where pirates roamed and got drunk on tequila and rum, then sang and danced into the early hours of the morning. Funny how much that sounds like Cabo San Lucas at times if you switch the word “pirates” for “tourists”! But it takes all sorts and it would be a boring old world if we all liked the same things.

Every Thursday in San Jose you can now have a chance of appreciating art in Los Cabos; sometimes it is good to take a break from being a pirate.

The Art Walk is every Thursday Starting November until June.
