What a beautiful week it has been here in Cabo! The mornings and evenings still with a nice breeze, it is hard to believe it is May already with such pleasant temps. This week was a little disappointing after all the Marlin we caught last week. Maybe because of the full moon, that sometimes plays a role. We also had heavy winds this week that made it tough to bottom fish on the Pacific for smaller game. Brad Hermes was a lucky angler who landed this beaut early in the week. Hermes Caroline Clarke and her friends fished on Monday, the only boat out and they landed a nice Striped Marlin and a Spanish Mackerel. She was back at it on Tuesday with a nice couple, Chris and Jessica, and got shut out. Wednesday the lone boat we had out, Tantrum with Steven Chiara and Javier Lopez on board. They fished a 1/2 day and picked up 4 SkipJack. We saw a definite increase in Skipjack catching this week, which means, hopefully, we will start to see more Tuna. Thursday, not much action at all, the 2 boats that did catch fish, also boated SkipJAck. Friday, we had 2 lucky boats, who were “catching” and not fishing! Alex Webster and his crew on RedRum pulled in a nice Striped Marlin, which they released. James McCann and Rocco Novinskey – 2 super nice military guys – got lucky in that they chose to fish for Marlin Friday – they released one then boated a couple of SkipJack and a Grouper. Sunday, they had a banner day and bottom fished on the Pacific. They caught 2 of the only Dorado we picked up this week, 16 Triggerfish, 4 Bonita and 8 Skipjack – no lack of action for these guys!! Kyle Morgan and his group fished on 2 boats, our 28′ boats, ReelRum and Tantrum. Tantrum released a Striped Marlin and ReelRum caught 3 Bonitas, 5 Skipjack and 8 Triggerfish. Great variety for these 2 boats! That was on Saturday. Considering they had a 1/2 day, they were VERY lucky!! Returning RedRum client Jason Colvin also had some great luck on 19′s Toy, he and his buddies released 2 Striped Malrin. James and Leighanne Nunes, also veteran RedRum peeps, released a Striped Marlin day one, day 2, they fished on 19′s Toy and got shut out…. Well, we are sure that this is turning around soon folks! Neverless, to be on a boat, In Cabo?! You can’t beat it!!
