HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! And a great start to the new year it has been :) It is getting pretty chilly here in Cabo, well, chilly for us Cabo folk!!! Last year it stayed pretty warm, but this year, you will definitely need a jacket early mornings and after the sun goes down. It is kinda nice to see your breath in the morning, HEY, I said kinda…….
We had another good week on the Dorado and Wahoo front, pretty slow with the Marlin this week though. We are still fishing up past Playa Migrino on the Pacific side about a mile and a half to three miles right offshore. Tiffany and Barry Anderson were back with us again this year fishing with their favorite crew, Juan and Humberto on the Tantrum for 2 days. They had a phenomenal trip catching a total of 11 Dorado, a Wahoo and they released a Striped Marlin! Mike Robles and crew had a great time on Monday catching a large Wahoo and Dorado on ReelRum. Andrew Casareto and his family took the award for best day on Monday, these veteran anglers fished on RumRunnin with the Jesus’s and caught 2 Striped Marlin, which were released and 3 Dorado. Monday was probably the best day of the week for catching. Francis Accorsini and his group fished all day Tuesday and caught a SkipJack and a nice size Dorado. Ed Florence and Gilan fished with friends the Halloran’s Tuesday and got the big ZILCH-O. They did not get angry… they just booked another trip!!! They went out again on Saturday and did the best of all our boats catching 5 Dorado, 2 Wahoo and an Amberjack! Ed and Gilan were hooked and decided to do it again Sunday and caught 2 Dorado and 2 Wahoo! Great time for these guys who said they would definitely be back! Our buddy Jeff James was down again with his favorite crew on 19′s Toy. He brought some family along and they enjoyed the day catching lots of Dorado!!Jeff James Tucker Blackwell and buddy Andrew fished for a 1/2 day Wednesday, caught a Striped Marlin and a Wahoo, took the ladies with them on Friday and caught 7 Dorado. Katina and Mike Wilson did a 1/2 day on Wednesday and were super happy with the Dorado they caught, Mike looks pretty excited in the photo with Mate Humberto! KAtina Jake Casereto came in after his Dad’s successful trip earlier in the week to fish on Friday. He killed it on ReelRum with his buddies catching 8 Dorado. Mike Darden, veteran RedRUm angler was back with some friends on 19′s Toy and they too caught 8 Dorado. Friday proved to be a pretty productive day! Saturday was a little slower as boats caught a Dorado or a Wahoo. Sunday we were pretty slow with charters, but had Jordan Pettigrew and Syndi all the way from Ottowa out on Nuevo. They were pretty excited to have caught 2 large Dorado.
Not a bad week! With the weather SOOO nice and everybody bouncing around Cabo, you should join in the fun!!!
