18 November 2013 Keep in Mind the Whales are starting to show up!!! WATER: The water has been really nice over this last week. Here is some average temperatures throughout the year. Out temperatures are perfect for striped Marlin so this is why we have an abundance of Striped Marlin in this area. • January: 73ºF | 22.7ºC • February: 72ºF | 22.2ºC • March: 72ºF | 22.2ºC • April: 72ºF | 22.2ºC • May: 72ºF | 22.2ºC • June: 73ºF | 22.7ºC • July: 79ºF | 26.1ºC • August: 82ºF | 27.7ºC • September: 82ºF | 27.7ºC • October: 81ºF | 27.2ºC • November: 79ºF | 26.1ºC • December: 75ºF | 23.8ºC Right now temperatures are about average being in the ladder 70,s in most areas. We will notice some cooler temperatures creeping in next month. WEATHER: The weather has been really nice as we have had a few partly overcast days this past week but in general really nice. We did have some sprinkles last night but nothing to worry about as most people did not even know it rained. BILLFISHING: Well the town has calmed down with most of all the major tournaments behind us but it seems as the town is still pretty busy with lots of activity still going on. It seems as if the good fishing has moved farther north up off of Los Arcos and all the way up to Pescadero. The Marlin fishing has still been good with some Blue Marlin being landed this past week. There have been a few big ones caught this week. One at 450lbs and two more I know about were respectively at 300lbs and 190lbs. So, a good week for Big Blue Marlin. The Striped Marlin bite has also been really decent with the Los Arcos area again being the spot. Most captains report going out about 5 miles offshore from Arcos and using live bait and lures and then I also heard that some Striped Marlin were caught off the Light House drifting live bait. So the fish are here and expect more of the good fishing this coming week. BAIT: Bait is the standard 3.00 dollars a piece and there has been plenty around: DORADO: Still ok Dorado fishing being reported at about a half mile off the beach. The Dorado are hitting lures and live bait . They are being caught in numbers at about a half mile off the beach also a few Dorado being caught on jetheads. From The Admirals Kitchen...
