As the winter unfolds here in Cabo, the fishing seems to be cooperating beautifully. The water has been in the mid 70’s, and for that reason the Dorado are still here. It has been a few years since the Dorado have been plentiful this late in the season. The Tuna have also been cooperating. We have seen large schools almost daily, and for a couple weeks we were hammering Tuna with fish from 15-25 lbs. Just a reminder, keep only what you can use, as the bite has been very high. The best news lately is the Striped Marlin bite. The bait has stacked up on the Golden Gate bank and although it is a long run out there, the bite is incredible. It is total "hands-on" fishing on Golden Gate, as we catch them on live bait while still fishing down deep. Boats have been releasing 5-10 Marlins per day. The Yellowtail and Sierra bite is heating up in-shore, and catching them on light tackle is a real blast. In addition to Sierra, the beach bite has been incredible for Roosterfish and Red Snapper as well. Cabo also had a record-book catch on Super Bowl Sunday in February.
